AIIMS-PG (MD/MS/DM/MCh/MDS) 2018 Entrance Examination

At the postgraduate level, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences offers programs like Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), DM, MCh, and MDS. These courses are aimed at specialization at one of the branches of medicine. True to its standards, AIIMS conduct their own entrance examination for the admission to these courses. The schedule for various stages of the application and examination will be released during the beginning of 2018. But going by the previous year dates we can predict the timeline of the examination.

The admission process begins with uploading the prospectus and schedule on website of examinations section of The All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The prospectus will have the detailed list of vacancies available for each of the specialization in the New Delhi campus and other branches across the country. The process begins in the month of March, followed by the online submission of application.

The eligibility criteria for the candidates will be put up on the website. Candidates who are eligible are required to apply online on the same website by paying the prescribed fee. The fee would generally be Rs.1000 for General and OBC category candidates and Rs.800 for SC / ST category candidates. Physically challenged candidates are exempted from paying the application fees. The applications will then be scrutinized by the authorities. The candidates whose applications did not pass through the scrutinization will be given a chance to correct the errors and re-submit the application. By the end of April, the applications will be finalized and roll number will be allotted to the candidates. Admit cards along with the examination center will be shared by the candidates.

Entrance examination will be conducted during the beginning of May. The examination is completely online and will be an objective test with multiple choice questions. Results of the examination will be announced 10 days from the date of the examination following which the admission takes place through counseling.
